Matt guided for 10 years in the backcountry of Alaska navigating some of the state’s most remote fisheries via floatplane. These were the kind of trips where the adventure level was high, the bears far outnumbered the people, and the fishing was prolific. During this time, Matt worked closely with lodge owners and operators all over Alaska to offer the best possible experiences for their clients. He learned the lodge business well and knows the level of commitment and hard work it takes to be successful.
Since stepping away from guiding, Matt has had a very successful real estate career, brokering over 100 million dollars of recreational property and lodge sales across the Rocky Mountain West and Alaska, including over 40 million in sales in 2024.
Matt thrives on putting together complex transactions, often involving significant lifestyle changes, multiple properties, large businesses, tax management strategies, and legacy planning. Whether buying or selling, Matt works tirelessly from the initial meeting to the closing table to put his clients in the best position possible to achieve their goals.
Matt and his wife, Chelsea, currently reside in Sheridan, Wyoming with their daughter, dogs, and horses. In his free time, you will either find Matt recreating in the backcountry of Alaska or throughout the Rocky Mountain West targeting trout with his fly rod, slipping through the aspens in pursuit of an early morning elk bugle, or roaming the prairie with his dogs in search of the next flush.
